I want to express my sincere appreciation to IFMA Atlanta for their support of the first ever Facilithon Contest run at the SkillsUSA Georgia State Competition on February 23, 2024. Not only were we able to run this contest, but we were able to participate in the Career Expo where we introduced high school and post-secondary students and their advisors to the profession of Facility Management.
In addition to the financial support provided by IFMA Atlanta, I want to thank the following IFMA Atlanta members and friends who participated by judging contests and staffing the booth:
Tim Chamblee
Martha Pacini
Clara Smith
Ron Turner
Billy Holder
Dave Mason
Navid Kazemi
William Broome
Suzanne Haerther
Cheryl Waybright
Eunhwa Yang
This great turnout allowed us to not only conduct the Facilithon Contest but to judge two additional contests. It also showed our unselfish support for the work that SkillsUSA is doing to prepare the next generation of workers to “integrate people, place and process within the built environment”.
We look forward to the next opportunity to participate in this event when the National SkillsUSA Competition returns to Atlanta June 24-28.
Thank you to IFMA Atlanta for all that you do to further the profession of Facility Management.
