Facility investments often include removal of outdated processes and equipment and replacement with new improvements. These projects include major strip-out and renovation construction activities. Particularly in aging structures, preparing facility spaces for improvement requires environmental evaluation and compliance to address historical building materials and releases/impacts from previous operations. By utilizing the Planning, Assessment, Interpretation, Design, and Implementation steps, renovation project environmental pitfalls and associated health, safety, schedule, and cost risk factors can be managed.
In this presentation you will:
1. Gain an understanding of potential environmental risks associated with renovating existing facility spaces
2. Develop a comprehension of environmental regulations that may apply to strip-out, renovation, and improvement projects

Mr. Chenoweth, P.E. is a Principal/VP and Senior Project Manager at GHD Services, Inc. (GHD). He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering specializing in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has over 13 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry, with specialization in facility renovation, upgrade, decommissioning, demolition, and environmental regulatory/health compliance projects. Mr. Chenoweth has provided such consulting services for a variety of industries including automotive, governmental, commercial, pharmaceutical, power utility, oil and gas, and various other manufacturing sectors. Mr. Chenoweth’s experience includes manufacturing complexes containing over 9 million square feet of operational space. His project work spans throughout North America and internationally. Mr. Chenoweth’s management expertise is currently being applied to multiple manufacturing facilities in Australia.
