Dear IFMA Atlanta,
This is just a note to say THANK YOU to all of our members who have done so much to introduce Facility Management as a career to the Next Generation of FM’s. By using the FACILITHON contest and working with SkillsUSA at the National, State and Local levels, we have made a great reach into High School and Post Secondary programs in Georgia and around the country. The National Leadership and Skills Competition that ran from June 24-28 gave us an opportunity to meet with many students and advisors and share information about the FM Profession. We also had a chance to meet with a number of service providers related to the built environment and to see some great skills being demonstrated.
I especially want to thank Clara Smith, DeWayne Roberson, Kim Richards, Les Wilson, Mark Jacobus, Scott Christopher, Trent Patterson, William Broome and Lyle Gladney for giving their time to help with setting up, running and taking down the FMPipeline Booth at the SkillsUSA NLSC. I also want to thank our friends from USGBC and SAME for their help to make this event a success.
This photo shows the 16 National Competitors that participated in FACILITHON this year – including the one from Georgia. You can see from this the impact that your efforts have had.
Thank you again for your continued support as we move forward into the 24-25 academic year.
