Welcome to the inaugural edition of the Kennesaw State University (KSU) Corner news bulletin! The past few months have brought many changes to the Facility Management program at the former Southern Polytechnic State University. We are now officially part of the College of Architecture and Construction Management at Kennesaw State University. Our program will remain on the Marietta campus, and the Construction Management Department has remained intact.
In the past year we have been re-accredited by the American Council on Construction Education (ACCE) for our Bachelor and Master Degree programs. And this year, we became a fully Accredited Degree Program (ADP) through the IFMA Foundation and the Facility Management Accreditation Commission (FMAC). Additionally, our faculty and students are involved in the IFMA Atlanta ADP committee that is working towards getting students from KSU and Georgia Tech more involved in IFMA and the Atlanta Chapter.
Our future plans include the addition of Continuing Education opportunities for Facility Managers, with the Facility Management Professional (FMP) and Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) certification programs offered in a classroom setting. In the coming months we will have our new web page available, with information on our degree programs, certificate program and continuing education. We look forward to a strong partnership with IFMA and the Atlanta Chapter.
