What motivated you to enter your career?
Given the opportunity, people will always be themselves. The fact that I get to meet so many interesting people is what keeps me motivated. As long I can remember I’ve worked with people in some capacity. It hasn’t always been easy but certainly worth it. I’m a problem-solver by nature. So being able to help my clients meet their needs is a very rewarding feeling. I believe this is why we’re here on this planet. It’s not solely to make money and accumulate material wealth, but more importantly to enjoy each other and help one another. An individual is not singular it is always plural.
How long have you been in your field?
This is my third year on the office furniture side. I was previously working on the residential side of the business. I worked for 5 years for a high end, modern furniture store. This was my first look into the furniture world and somehow I got connected to it. While working in the residential store I had the pleasure to learn so much about the business and was fascinated by it.
Tell us something that not many people may know about you?
We all have our own secrets, so I’ll keep those to myself.( LOL)
Many people wonder where I’m from. I’m always asked about my heritage. I’m from Montevideo, Uruguay. It is a small but wonderful country in South America. I came to the United States in 2001, looking for new experiences as any 19 year old would try to do. I don’t think of myself as smarter or sharper than any other person. I believe that we all have a different mission in this life and I’m still searching for mine. In the meantime, I try to live my life to the fullest, learning from my mistakes which I make daily and love as much as I can. We never know which day will be our last.
PS – I love dark chocolate, the beach, traveling to new places, and getting to know new people.
How has your Atlanta Chapter IFMA membership benefited you and/or your career?
As you might know, I’m new to IFMA. I can only say great things about this organization. It has helped me to build a fantastic network of wonderful people that makes me feel that they care for me.
I look at IFMA as an awesome group of people that are doing all they can to help each other be the best that they can be. I’m thankful that I can be a part of IFMA and I’m happy to help too.
