Hello IFMA Atlanta colleagues and happy November! I am Joe Pearson, your Chapter President. We have had a fantastic year so far and it’s a very exciting time for our chapter. First, we had a great crowd and wonderful time at the Cook’s Warehouse all member event on October 3rd! I appreciate the feedback from many of you about bringing back our monthly all member events. The board has listened! While the event type may vary (social, learning luncheon, tour, sports outing, etc.), we are committed to creating experiences where all of our members can gather each month to connect and learn. Please be sure to check out our website at www.IFMAAtlanta.org and the latest Newsletter (the November issue was sent out earlier today) for more upcoming events.
Our October all member event at the newly constructed Mercedes Benz Stadium was a huge success with over 200 people in attendance! This was also a historical event for our chapter as we partnered with CoreNet and created connections between the organizations and our members.
Our November all member event will take place at Sweetwater Brewery so be sure to register for that today! As a reminder, when you renew your IFMA membership, please be sure to renew your local Atlanta dues as well. We learned of this issue a few weeks ago as the process is not very intuitive and we are working to get this fixed.
Lastly, this is our 35th year as a chapter and our gala to celebrate this momentous occasion is on December 7th. You only have two more days to take advantage of the early registration price of only $75 a person. After November 3rd, the pricing will increase to $100 per person.
This is a great date night or an event to bring family and friends. The event will be held at the Trolley Barn which is an architectural gem and perfect for our 35th anniversary! We will have great food, drinks and swanky soul and rock n’ roll by Bogey and the Viceroy that will have you celebrating on the dance floor. We will also be partnering with the Marines to support Toys for Tots so be sure to bring some new toys to donate at the door. Tony Keane, IFMA International CEO, will be in attendance and will be making an exclusive announcement. We will also recognize our community partners and hand out our annual awards. This is an event you do not want to miss!
We will continue our monthly all member events in January with a social and are actively planning our next CEU approved/quarterly program in early 2018. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event! Thank you for your support and involvement with our great chapter. Cheers to 35 more years!
